Regardless of how tired you feel, stop yourself from sleeping or taking a nap during daytime. Always get up at the same time as you normally would, never attempt to over sleep at weekends. Above all, do not have a clock on display in the bedroom, and if necessary put your alarm clock under the bed where you can't see it.
If your sleeplessness has persisted for any length of time then make sure you visit your doctor for a thorough medical check up. Any possible underlying physical disorder which may trouble your sleeping needs to be eliminated.
