Obesity is becoming a growing concern in India. Recently Metro cities like Delhi and Mumbai have been added to the list of cities where more than half the population is either over weight or obese. The saddest part is that most people who suffers from this disease are either unaware of it or are living in denial.

More and more children are now being reported obese which only proves that in our aim to ape the west we are not only neglecting our health but also increasing our chances of an unhealthy and problem filled adult life. The body mass index or Quetelet index is a heuristic method of calculating body fat bases on an individual’s weight and height. If the number you get on calculation using your weight and height lies below 18.5 then you are considered to be underweight.
