This article briefly looks at the many, many health benefits that turmeric has to offer us. It looks spefically at its use as a detox agent, as a beautifying substance and as something that helps fights against diseases like cancer and diabetes.

Turmeric has been used for thousands of years by various parts of Asia for its medicinal and flavourful properties. Turmeric or the “Curcuma longa”, of the Zingiberaceae family, is a plant that can reach 1m in height and is noticeable because of its large leaves, big yellow flowers and of course the cylindrical root which contains all its beneficial properties. Turmeric can be bought fresh or dried and ground.
