AMC Standard Pathway

1. Primary source verification through ECFMG/EPIC
2. AMC MCQ-CAT Exam
3. AMC Clinical Exam

Step 1: Primary source verification through ECFMG/EPIC

On successful completion of the assessment examinations, you will be awarded the Australian Medical Council certificate. It is necessary to note that this registration is processed by a different authority than the AMC, i.e. AHPRA/RACGP, which are medical regulatory authorities and are not assessment bodies.

Step 2: AMC MCQ Exam

MCQ exam tests understanding of the principles and practice of medicine in the fields of general practice, internal medicine, paediatrics, psychiatry, surgery etc. 

The AMC Computer Adaptive Test (CAT) MCQ Examination is a computerized multi-choice question exam taken in one 3.5-hour.

Step 3: AMC Clinical Exam

AMC clinical exam evaluates clinical skills in medicine, surgery, obstetrics, gynaecology, paediatrics, and psychiatry.

It also evaluates the applicant skill to communicate with patients and their families.

AMC clinical exam is 20 stations including 14 scored stations, 2 (non-scored) stations, and 4 rest stations.
