Roaches are one of the most disgusting types of insects roaming the streets today. These disease carrying critters always seem to find their way into your home causing an immediate uproar as you attempt to get rid of it and any of the “friends” it brought along. There are numerous different types of roach control products available in today’s market. Conventional methods involve the use of poisonous baits, sprays and pesticides.

Roach Spray

The first most common roach killer used in households is roach spray. Many times when one spots a roach,What Are The Different Types Of Roach Killer? Articles we run to our counter for the nearest can of raid. Roach spray can be especially effective when dealing with one roach at a time. This way you are able to have direct contact and kill the roach on scene by “drowning” it in pesticide. The downfall to roach spray is that it can leave a sticky residue on any surface that it touches and tends to leave an unpleasant smell after it has been sprayed.

Roach Bait

Another effective method of killing roaches is the use of bait. Bait is one of the simplest methods and requires little effort to set up. All you have to do is set the bait in places where you have seen roaches or suspect they may be hiding. The way it works is the roach sniffs out the bait and consumes it. The bait contains a slow acting poison that allows the insect just enough time to retreat back to its colony and “share” its feast with its nest mates. Once the roach has done its part, the cycle continues until the whole colony has died off. Roach bait is extremely successful and widely used in many households however, it can be dangerous for small children and pets as they may play or consume the roach bait which could be fatal. It is important to make sure to place the bait in the perfect place out of sight and reach of innocent bystanders.

Homemade Roach Killer

An inexpensive control method is to create a homemade roach killer by mixing together equal amounts of borax and sugar. This lethal mixture should be applied to baseboards, cracks, and other areas known to be frequently visited by roaches. The reason this combination is successful is because of the simplicity in how it works. The sugar is used to attract the roaches to the bait and the borax is used as the poison that ultimately dries out their exoskeleton killing them in time.
