People seem to be fascinated by large things, and love to read about the world's tallest building, longest bridges, highest mountain peaks and so on. I don't blame them as these subjects are all perfectly interesting. But if you've ever wanted to know more about the world's largest igloo, or found yourself contemplating the size of the world's largest shower then read on. Here's a list of some of the world's more unusual giants.

But if you've ever wanted to know more about the world's largest igloo, or found yourself contemplating the size of the world's largest shower then read on. Here's a list of some of the world's more unusual giants.

Riverboat Casino

I'm sure you've all been wondering where you can find the world's largest riverboat Casino? Well the answer is at the Horseshoe Southern Indiana Complex, in the United States. The Complex, which is owned and operated by Caesars, houses "The Legend", a four-deck riverboat which can hold over 5,000 passengers at a time and has an overall gaming space of over eight and a half thousand metres.

Igloo

There are two official records for the world's largest igloo. The world's largest dome Igloo made of Ice was finished in February 2011 and has an internal diameter of 9.2 metres. However this doesn't come close to the record for an igloo made of snow, which was constructed in the same month in Austria. It had an internal diameter of 12.1 metres and was a staggering 8.1 metres tall. So if your approach to igloo building is "the bigger the better", it's probably best to use snow.

Shopping Centre

The Dubai Mall in the United Arab Emirates is the world's largest shopping mall based on total area. It measures more than 12 million square feet, which is an area greater than 50 football pitches. The Mall is not just a place to shop, and is also home to the Dubai Aquarium and Under Water Zoo, and the Dubai Ice Rink. And for those of you with a sweet tooth the Dubai Mall is also home to the world's largest sweep shop, "Candylicious".

Shower

In July 2009 the American Shampoo company Pert Plus joined together with the Six Flags: Great American theme park in Chicago to put together the world's largest shower. The structure was 40 ft. wide, and 100 ft. long and was used by 150 people breaking another record, for the world's biggest ever group shower in the process.

Largest Motorised Shopping Trolley

It's nice to finish with something particularly odd. The largest motorised shopping trolley is 3 metres long, 3.5 metres tall and 1.8 metres wide. I bet you're dying to know where you can find its home? Dubai? California? Well if you're desperate to see it in action take a trip down to Asda in Watford. Probably not quite as exotic as you'd hoped.
