A LOGO EVOKING “OPEN SOURCE” VISION

The new image of TYPO3 was presented at the first international conference in Karlsruhe,Inspiring people to share: a new challenge for TYPO3 community Articles a new logo identificating the open source project founded by Kasper Skarhoj. TYPO3 Association created and developed the new icon although some color details have still to be defined. The new logo graphic is essential but at the same time truly communicative, a number of messages are being. The old logo triple forms and colors have been substituted by a more direct communication and personal interpretation. Now next to the letters, written in a different font, there’s a tiny sail, or maybe a heart, a pencil, a dart or a rocket.

Developers, administrators and new users will be free to give their own personal meaning and significance to the new icon. The communicative mission of TYPO3 Association follows what Kasper explained so vividly during his contribute to TYCON3.

INSPIRING PEOPLE TO SHARE: a renovated challenge for the TYPO3 community

In his 80min contribution to the conference, Kasper has focused the attention to the importance of personal and individual initiatives for the development of TYPO3. According to Kasper, the real success of TYPO3 is not the broad and quick diffusion of the cms. The core impulse to TYPO3 diffusion, the real engine that speeds up the community project development, is the daily professional benefits the TYPO3 can bring to the user, developer or website administrator.

On the practical level, the use of TYPO3 produces a high impact nourishing a professional experience that brings one to share all the advantages and benefits of of working with TYPO3. This is where the core developmental impulse starts from: the individual and personal use experience of cms TYPO3. And that is also a challenge for all TYPO3 developers and editors which contributes to TYPO3 open source community stability, cohesion and richness.

THE HEADLINES OF THE CONFERENCE

During the three-days-conference several projects based on cms TYPO3 technology starting from the tutorials of Thursday 08th about news management and TemplàVoilà. After Kasper’s contribution, that “lit up” the developers teams, on Friday more technical topics were discussed such as DBAL and DAM for TYPO3.

One of the hottest subjects were also TYPO3 and accessibility websites, the development of workflow management for complex sites and the advanced extension for the management of e-shops. All projects presentation and description were meant to be explicative and suggestive for all the developers of the community thus giving more space to customised solutions.

TYCON3 was also the scene for the presentation of contents development for  typo3.org which will be the main point of reference for the world community of TYPO3; the final definition of  TYPO3 extensions repository has also been discussed with a particular focussing on the importance of personal initiatives and free contributions by the developers of  TYPO3 world community.
