The state of Georgia has a central storage for divorce documents filed within the state. People who do not fall under any of the aforementioned list will only be given informational copies.

To get a copy of the a divorce document, you must first get the correct request form. You can get it personally at the office or download it from the official website of the office where you will place your request. Fill out the form accordingly with information such as the full names of either the husband or the wife, your reason from placing a request, you relation to the couple, your contact information, and others. Once you complethe the form, submit it back to the office along with your valid ID and a fee of $10. If you want extra copies, you will be charged $5 for every extra copy. All fees are non-refundable regardless of the outcome of the search.

The return period for every transaction is usually a couple of weeks. It may take a bit longer than that if you only provided a few information on the request form, or worse, the information you provided are inaccurate. For a certain fee, you can opt for a rush handling service and get the documents sooner.
