Movies That Should Never Be Remade

In the realm of movie making there are a lot of films that are remade or repurposed a few years after the original makes its debut. One of the problems with doing a remake is that you are taking a huge risk of ruining something that was great, or from redoing something that wasn’t ever going to work in the first place. Here are 5 movies that should never be remade:

 

1.  Waterworld- When movies do really terrible the first time, it is probably because it was a bad idea from the start. Waterworld is one of those films that expected to be really good but turned out to miss the mark big time. When something takes that big of a fall it is probably best to avoid it at all costs.

2.  The Matrix- This is one of the greatest movies to come from the year 1999 and it is the type of movie that shouldn’t be remade. When the movie came out it was the first to ever cover the story and it forged its own path. Not only did it forge its own path, but it did so with flying colors and a huge fan base. Want to remake this film? You’re going to be fighting an uphill battle.

3.  Fight Club- FIght Club is another one of the gems hat came to us from 1999 and is one that would do best to avoid remake. Part of the difficulty in remaking this film is finding actors that would do a better job playing the characters in the film. If you’re thinking that you’re going to make it big with a remake of Fight Club, then you better think again because many of the die hard fans don’t want anything other than the original.

4.  The Godfather- When you do a movie this well the first time you should never try and remake it again. The Godfather is one of, if not thee, greatest movie of all time. It is a film that is made up of a series of miniature climaxes that lead to one grand ending. It is the type of movie that can have you rooting for the bad guy. Hopefully no one will ever try and remake this film because if they do they will be facing some steep competition.

5.  Planet Of The Apes- In 2001 there was a Planet Of The Apes remake that starred mark Wahlberg. This movie was definitely worse than the original and is one of the films that leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth when it is over. If you want to watch a Planet Of The Apes movie either go with the original or watch the latest film Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Anything other than that is going to be a bit of a disappointment.
