The award-winning director has given plenty of commercially successful movies to the industry, including The Dark Knight Trilogy, Inception, Interstellar, The Prestige, and Dunkirk. Recently, Nolan’s science fiction movie Tenet was released, which is widely praised for its production and visuals. His early movies like Memento and Insomnia also received powerful and positive responses. Nolan’s projects are famous for depicting a whole new world far from our known one and layered with the complex mind-bending narrative.

Nolan’s work has a distinct style, and it seems like the director is ready to bring that uniqueness to the gaming world. During a recent interview with the journalist Geoff Keighley, the Oscar winner shared that his films might be adapted for games. Nolan shared that he is interested in the idea of the adaptation. He added that games have an amazing world, and he respects the process and art of making games. The director also said that if his works were adapted, it would have to do in the right way.

Nolan said, “You don’t want to just be doing a licensed game. You don’t want to just be tying into something and using the brand established by the film.” He further added, in the same way, if one wants to adapt a film into a game, it must have something great in it rather than just the film’s brand.

The director understands the uniqueness of both forms. For decades the video game movies have been bad. However, they are changing bit by bit. If handled and created smartly, Nolan’s movies could be created into great content for game adaptations. The amazing and different narrative style of the fictional world of Interstellar, Tenet, and Inception could be adapted in an interactive format. Like the director said, the process of creating a game is very complicated. And the production and quality adaptation is far more complex than that of a film. Hopefully, the developers soon could adapt one of the famous Nolan movies.
