China: Google has turned out to be a “political tool” defaming the Chinese government. This news was published by an official newspaper in Beijing on Monday, warning that these expression of views by the American search engine giant Google that the recent hacking of the Gmail accounts was traced to China could hurt its business.  This news was flashed in the overseas edition of the People’s Daily, top seller newspaper of ruling communist party in China, predicting that the tensions between United States of America and China regarding Internet Security could dawdle.

Earlier, Google had claimed that the passwords of hundreds of Google email account holders, including U.S. and Chinese Journalists had been possibly been hacked from Jinan, the same place where Google got trouble from in the previous year.  The foreign ministries have declined those allegations and have flashed in the news notifying Google against playing a dangerous political game. Google said that even the Chinese human right activists had been targeted in the event of hacking the Gmail accounts by mentioning that Google tried to indicate that this could have been a work of the Chinese government – the People’s Daily overseas edition said on their front page.

"Google's accusations aimed at China are spurious, have ulterior motives, and bear malign intentions," mentioned in the comments, written by an editor at the paper. "Google should not become overly embroiled in international political struggle, playing the role of a tool for political contention," the paper added. "For when the international winds shift direction, it may become sacrificed to politics and will be spurned by the marketplace," it said, without mentioning how Google's work could be affected [Source – Reuters]. China has stuck to its policies and tends to avoid passing on information to websites that don’t belong to China itself. China doesn’t use Facebook and Twitter, some of the most happening sites of the world. The only solid reason one can arguably find behind that would be they basically they feel that the information being passed on outside might not be safe as there is much more than just general information mentioned in the social networking sites.

Now China is suggesting people to avoid using Gmail due to the recent hacking, which have taken place. Google, Yahoo, Bing, Facebook, Twitter have enormous amount of data about people all over the world. This data is vital and could help them write thesis about people who have been using these websites. Now China for a fact has used a policy of its own, in which people are encouraged to use domestic websites. In this way there are two benefits to them the Government can have access to the data anytime they want and the other reason would be the information is kept private and not handed over to another country. Now this warning is just an indirect suggestion to Google that not to accuse them or even Google search engine would fall in the ban list joining Facebook and Twitter, one can only wait and see how things turn out to be!
