A sexual problem,Sexual Problems in Men and Women Articles also referred to as sexual dysfunction, is a difficulty or a disorder during any phase of the sexual response cycle that prevents an individual from engaging in any sexual activity or having a satisfied sexual pursuit. Problem or difficulty could arise anytime in the four phases of sexual responsible cycle (excitement, plateau, orgasm and resolution). Men and women experience several sexual problems. Some of the sexual problems are treatable, allowing an individual to have satisfied sex. Sexual problem is not always a disorder or problem. There could be a lack of interest in sexual activity, which is referred to as a low libido. On the other hand, a sexual problem could be in the form of experiencing discomfort during intercourse, difficulty to experience an orgasm or inability to maintain an erection. Sexual problems in women are segregated into four different forms, which include sexual pain, problems with desire, arousal problems and orgasm difficulty. Among the reasons leading to these dysfunctions are medical conditions and changes in hormone levels. 1. Vaginal Dryness

  • Vaginal dryness often leads to low libido.
  • Owing to the disorder, women experience problems with arousal and desire.
  • Sexual intercourse becomes difficult and painful due to lack of lubrication.
  • Hormonal changes during menopause or during breastfeeding phase may also lead to vaginal dryness.
2. Orgasm Problem
  • Orgasm disorders in women include delayed orgasms or inability to achieve an orgasm.
3. Painful Sex
  • Chronic and painful intercourse is also a form of sexual dysfunction, which could be a result of vaginal dryness or endometriosis.
4. Low Libido
  • The dysfunction occurs as a result of lower levels of estrogen.
  • Fatigue, depression and anxiety are among other reasons for low libido.
Sexual Problems in Men

1. Erectile dysfunction (ED)

  • It may be caused due to diabetes, high blood pressure or by anxiety about having sex.
  • Depression, fatigue and stress can also contribute to erectile dysfunction.
2. Ejaculation Problems
  • Ejaculation problems include premature ejaculation and inability to ejaculate.
  • Antidepressants, medications or anxiety about sex and sexual trauma history are identified as the reasons for ejaculation problems.
  • The psychological definition of delayed ejaculation refers to the inability to have an ejaculation during sexual intercourse. Interestingly enough, ejaculatory issues are rarely defined as a dysfunction if they occur only during masturbation.
3. Low Libido
  • Stress and depression reduces the sexual desire, which is referred to as low libido.
  • Decreased level of testosterone hormone and physical illness are among other reasons of low libido in men.
