Women have it pretty easy when it comes to choosing a mate. While it may not always be a simple choice, it is common knowledge that the female of the species, or at least this one, generally has her pick of the litter. Of course, she may not like the field she’s dealing with at the time, but that is another story. Although physical attraction can stimulate visual sensibility in men, there is also a chemical sensibility that many people work which is actually one of the most effective ways to attract a guy. This chemical sensibility has been studied for centuries and is more commonly known as human pheromones.

Among all of the different ways to attract a guy, human pheromones are probably the most effective, even if they are not completely understood by science. Studies do suggest, though, that animals use these natural physiological notifications for a variety of reasons:

•    Social interaction
•    Territorial claim
•    Alarm
•    Aggregation
•    Behavioral signaling
•    Sexual attraction

It is this last type of communication that is most useful in the dating world. Although animals do not generally have socially sexual relationships, the human animal does. Even though these two aspects are different, they both rely on internal chemical indicators to compel members of the species to mate with each other. In humans, this evolutionary tactic has been somewhat lost. However, this is one of the reasons why a great deal of research has gone into the development of special perfumes and colognes.

Not everyone is attracted to the same aromas, but not everyone is compatible with the enumerable scents that are out there. Generally, though, women’s fragrances are more floral and fruity or sweet. Men’s fragrances are quite the opposite, more robust and of an earthy or citrus base. The key is to find the right combination that works with your particular human pheromones.

This concept may also be familiar to you in the form of aphrodisiacs. These formulated aromas can incite pleasure or excitement in the same way that some natural and prepared foods can. In the raw form some herbs and spices can be made into teas but they can also be cooked with other foods:

•    Chili peppers contain capsaicin, whose heat stimulates the nerve endings in your body as well as your heart rate
•    Vanilla is soft and subtly sweet and is believed to increase lust
•    Chocolate, on the other hand is deeper and more richly sweet and has been known to cause arousal
•    Oysters, one of the most well-known aphrodisiacs, is high in zinc, which is one of the main productive elements of testosterone
•    Red wine is bold and bawdy, which many believes actually mirrors the scent of male hormones
