For an ordinary netizen,Essential FIVE in Websites Articles the most annoying moment spent in front of a PC is when he is linked in a website, eating his time because of the site’s below normal loading time. Viewers usually have that bad habit of pressing F5 on the keyboard to refresh or reload the site because they are already pissed at the idea of waiting and wasting every second of their surfing time. The first 5 seconds of a web surfer is the most crucial moment that can eventually lead to either good or bad feedback. Thus, web developer must keep in mind the factors to make 5 seconds be extended to 5 more seconds and beyond.

Faster loading time. Okay, this might sound redundant because it is already stated in the introduction of this article. But this is just my way of emphasizing that the size of the site should not be too heavy so that the netizens with slow internet connection can still enjoy viewing the site.

Interesting web design. After the site has been completely loaded, the first thing that will catch the attention of a user is the web design. Most netizens are meticulous when it comes to website design. Design—I don’t mean flamboyant and colorful, but just enough for it to be attractive and catchy for viewers become eager to further navigate the online platform, that is, extending another 5 seconds or more.

Vital Information. The most important part of the website is the content. Of course, the visitors must be able to find the information he really needs. However, this is usually the part wherein the viewers tend to get bored. It is because how the information is presented. Hence, vital information means to give the users a hint of what your content is all about. A clear keyword or sentence will do. Make sure that the words are not out-of-this-world so that the web surfers will be able to understand.

Easy to Navigate.  This is to assure a user that whatever button he will click he can still come back on the page that soothes his interest. Easy to navigate sites are most viewed because those are user-friendly.  This will leave a good impression to the viewer.

Five seconds is the most critical and essential time to identify a good website from a bad. Keep in mind that if a user stays in a website for more than this, it is his way of saying that “Yup, I find this website worth another FIVE seconds”
