Microsoft is out with their latest Operating System,How is Windows 8 better, faster and safer OS as compared to its Predecessors by Microsoft Articles Windows 8 in the later part of this year. The OS has got a very mixed review so far. Windows 8 is a more accomplished version of the Operating System by Microsoft, it’s quite stylish looking in ‘tiles’, much smooth and better in performance than the other versions. Windows8 has two versions that are available to all whereas its ARM version is only for pre-installation in the devices.

However, there some confusion and questions still persists regarding this new OS. Will the new Window 8 meet its goal of being an ideal OS for the computers & laptops? Will the existing computers run on this OS? Will the new UI put off the patrons of existing Windows users?

The first and most striking feature that the windows users will come across is its ‘tiled’ version of User Interface rather than the standard start menu. Some of the existing Windows user might find this annoying and perhaps uncomfortable as it is new since the Windows 8 version doesn’t have the conventional Start Menu. All the applications and programs that you saw in the start menu are now viewed as separate and colorful tiles on the screen. For searching a particular app or program, you can simply type it on the Start screen and the results will prompt options as you type in more characters.

The OS will try to connect your Microsoft account with the Windows login, hence making your Microsoft account login and password same for the windows login as well. This will allow the user a tighter integration with the remote and the cloud based features of the new OS. Thus you can have better security of your data with Windows 8 laptops or Windows 8 on PCs

It’s essential for the users to now understand that the new UI is just as same as start menu for the older version of OS such as Windows7 or Windows XP. The screen is hence not the desktop replacement; it’s just a launch pad of applications. So in Windows 8, the desktop applications can still run in the window on the desktop but not all the desktop applications will appear on the Start screen. For allowing a particular app or program to appear on your Start screen you can simply right click it and select the option of Pin to Start at the bottom of the screen.

This also means that all your live apps or programs will be displayed first on the screen giving you quick access to it. Thus the new Windows 8 UI makes it easier for you to go through or switch your apps smoothly and easily. The UI works just fine with mouse as well as touch pad. If you’re using a mouse with a wheel then moving the wheel will enable you to scroll from left to right while in a touchpad, single finger swiping from left to right will scroll the list. You can also drag the tiles to any location you prefer on the screen.

Thus, the new OS is much quicker with its live apps on the start screen, safer with its secured login with Microsoft account, and snappy in booting the system. The New Windows 8 is everything that one needs from the OS in present day’s time.
