I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Barcelona is one of my favourite cities in the world. Whether you’re a lover of arts and culture,Group Transport from Barcelona Airport to Barcelona: Airport Shuttles Articles a food fanatic or an architectural connoisseur, there’s something for everyone in this magnificent city. It’s only a short flight from London airports, and after that a 40-minute Barcelona airport shuttle to get you into the city, making it convenient enough for short holidays and weekend breaks, while the sheer richness and variation within the city means you won’t run out of things to do on longer visits either.

Party’s Up in Barcelona!

Barcelona is a great place for group holidays. Spend your days walking, swimming or lounging on the city’s world-famous beaches or relaxing in one of the city’s many cafes or bars with a cool drink, and come the evening you’ll be ready to partake in the city’s one-of-a-kind nightlife. Whether it’s a hip cocktail atmosphere or a casual locals’ vibe you’re after, there’s a wealth of cocktails bars, karaoke bars and wine bars, along with clubs for every occasion and every genre of music.

When friends and family ask for holiday advice when visiting this city, the first thing I always recommend is booking a Barcelona airport shuttle in advance of their visit. With a pre-booked shuttle, you’re guaranteed to have transport waiting for you when you arrive, even if your flight is delayed, and your driver will take you straight to your hotel at a fixed low price. It eliminates so many stresses, from figuring out train tickets or local taxis through a language barrier, to carrying luggage, to finding the hotel.

Of course, not every Barcelona airport shuttle service is identical. Shuttle Direct offers four such services, each suited to a different purpose and budget, and hopefully I can help you decide between them. All prices are correct as of June 2016.

Standard Private Transfer

This service gives your group their own vehicle. The driver will meet you in person at the airport, then you’ll be able to load your luggage and hop in. The vehicle will be a minivan or something similar, meaning that the shuttle will easily accommodate small-medium sized groups. A standard private transfer costs £41.75 per journey, working out at £6.96 per person for a six-person group.

Executive Private Transfer

The executive private transfer offers the same capacity and benefits as the standard private transfer: you’ll get the same door-to-door service and professional standards you’d expect of all of Shuttle Direct’s Barcelona airport shuttles, but with a slightly higher-end vehicle. An executive private transfer costs just slightly more than a standard one, coming in at £46.58 per journey, or £7.76 per person for a six-person group.

Luxury Private Transfer

The pinnacle of Shuttle Direct’s range of Barcelona airport shuttles, with a luxury private transfer you’ll get all the services and guarantees of the above transfers, but with a top-of-the-range luxury vehicle. This high-end option comes in at £78.92 per journey, or £13.15 per person for a six-person group.

Shared Ride Shuttle Service

Shuttle Direct also offers shared ride services, wherein a Barcelona airport shuttle bus will take you to from a convenient meeting point at the airport to your destination, along with other groups of travellers. With bigger groups, it’s usually more economical and pleasant to just split the cost of a private transfer, but if you’re travelling alone or in a very small group a shared ride may be in order, as you pay a flat rate per person rather than a cost for the whole vehicle. The shared shuttle costs £8.38 per journey per person.

Once you’ve picked the ride that suits you, you’re all set to get your teeth into Barcelona. Enjoy!
