Sydney Harbour, like always, will likely be the main focal point of this year’s Vivid festival with numerous eye-catching installations emerging after the sun sets. One of the biggest highlights of the events is the Opera House projections so you can bet that this year’s dazzling works are going to live up to the hype. The best way to enjoy them? Vivid Cruises are the ideal way to witness these spectacles along with others, away from the busy crowd and with an impressive menu of food and drinks! To make it even more special you can choose to cruise on an authentic paddlewheeler which also offers a live cabaret show! Vivid Live

 

This year the festival will be staged over 23 nights and will deliver jaw-dropping art displays, 3D projections, deep discussions from the world's brightest minds and uplifting live performances by talented artists! The Opera House is bringing back the concerts and parties so you can dance under the stars overlooking the harbour and mesmerising Vivid Lights. Lot of the live gigs will be taking place in the House including a performance from the Australian icon Paul Kelly, a local music collective from Astral People with two nights of jazz, soul, R&B and hip-hop and a world premiere show from German producer NiIls Frahm. You can check out the Houses’ series of studio parties, featuring Djs such as catalan electro producer John talabot, Simon Caldwel and more if you're looking to cut shapes on the dance floor after a long time. Other highlights away from the house includes a pop-up gig series in Tumbalong Park which will see Mary’s Underground turn into an intimate cabaret lounge, DJs setting their decks every night at pop-up dance floors in Ultima and free shows taking over at Grand Concourse. The revellers are sure to feel energised and rejuvenated with a number of festival firsts including new electronic music performances!

 

Vivid Ideas

 

The deep-down discussions and talks are the round-up segment of Vivid Sydney with numerous thought provoking debates, artist talks, author talks and much more! These talks which are essentially Sydney, but authentically universal deliver fresh and engaging content, bringing feelings of joy, excitement, awe, inspiration and hope to all who are drawn to it! Award winning singer-songwriter, global superstar and fashion icon, Troy Sivan, is set to headline Vivid Ideas sharing his takes on beauty, fashion, queer politics and creativity. The newly introduced Vivid Ideas Up Late combines talk, art and performance and will cover everything from food, fashion, culture and films and more.
