Attention Getting Catch Phrases, And How Come Folks Simply Love Them

A little while ago while I was sitting with a very good friend of mine, we got onto the topic of family life. Unavoidably, we were soon speaking about our children, and since we were having a light-hearted discussion, we ended up speaking of the way young children typically just say whatever they want. It is, in my opinion an endearing quality which human beings lose as they grow older.

Kids certainly have a tendency to say it as it is, and very often, we as mothers and fathers can learn something from what they have to say. This is in actual fact what gave birth to a new catch phrase which I heard for the very first time when speaking with my friend. His kids had said something which clearly made him think, because out of nowhere, he said, "They may be micro people, but they can certainly pack a heavy punch".

This is only one example of absolutely unique attention grabbing phrases, nonetheless let's not forget all those phrases that have been getting people's attention for quite some time already. I don't for a second doubt that every language has it's fair share on appealing phrases, but seeing that English is a universal language, it's the English expressions that really grab my attention.

What always strikes me is the fact that in a language as far-reaching as the English language, two or three phrases can impart your feelings concerning a particular subject a lot more than a bunch of words. As an example, during my traveling in Thailand, I routinely came across the saying: Same same but different. Another well-known term amongst foreigners staying in the region is "No money, no honey" although to be truthful, I think this really is a phrase which would be pertinent regardless of where about in the world you stay.

Of course I can't quote many of the attention getting words and phrases I've heard since I really doubt Google will approve. In this day and age, you have to make certain that everything you say is "politically correct" or else you can end up in serious trouble. Sadly, world events have resulted in people losing their sense of humor.

A catch phrase that would have resulted in plenty of laughter not too long ago, could very well get you into real trouble nowadays. Sadly, we are no longer in a position to make lighthearted jokes, at least not openly. Having said that; you will still find numerous phrases we can use, and with a bit of imagination, anybody can add to the growing number of phrases that generally turn heads or win deals.

For example, I was recently seated with a group of friends when we, for no apparent reason, wound up talking about extra weight. Being a group of friends, the fatter ones were swiftly targeted. Out of the blue one of my friends glanced at me, and said that I should really stay away the discussion for the reason that there's more meat on a butcher's pencil, which means that I could do with a few more kilograms.
