The corporate people should know the biology of honey badger and what management message....
The corporate world must know about Honey badger, a small carnivorous animal of weasel family and how it has earned the title of ‘world’s most fearless animal’ in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Although the honey badger is reasonably a small in sized animal, dare even a pride of lions. It is also unmindful of the stink of swarm of bees while collecting the honey from a hive. The corporate world should know how the badger could do such feat.
The skin of the honey badger is extremely thick, tough and rubbery. The skin also gets loosened allowing the animal to easily turn and twist against its predators. Any animal having these advantages can definitely be brave and bold. It need not worry about anything and can also easily earn the title of the most fearless animal in the Guinness Book of World Records.
But the question is do honey badger knows that it has very tough and rubbery skin which is impervious to arrow & spear and even a knife cannot scratch it, hence it can be brave and bold.
Unless the badger knows about their strength or uniqueness over other animals, they cannot be fearless. Their fearlessness is born out of the understanding of their strength or uniqueness.
The management message to be learned by the corporate is that it is not the strength makes one strong but knowing it and recognizing it only really make one strong. Besides knowing and recognizing, one also has to ‘work’ with it or put to use the same is the message, the small honey badgers convey to the corporate.
Many corporate people live under utter dismay and hopelessness because of job insecurity in the organization they work or perceived lack of opportunity elsewhere. They allow the fear to swallow them fully and live with the fear, believing it to be real and true.
If they ever introspect or search within, they can easily discover their uniqueness and strength that may even worth the recognition of ‘Guinness Book of World Records’. All one need is the wisdom of honey badger to know and understand own strength and gather courage and confidence.
Human mind, unlike the honey badgers, always worry at external pressures without knowing the ‘power’ within to win. Look at the beauty of nature. When the honey badger can afford to have the wisdom to know ‘itself’, why not for the corporate people?
The management message of honey badger to the corporate people is that ‘be a honey badger’ and believe ‘you are’ already a ‘honey badger’.
