One study estimates that about 5% of your total sales can be credited to impulse buying.  That's a huge chunk of your total sales,Candy Pills Are a Great Impulse Seller Articles and with some careful planning that amount can go even higher.  It's no secret that candy is one of the most successful impulse products—even when you understand the psychology of impulse displays, it's hard to resist that candy bar on the shelf in front of you!

Another, more effective kind of candy to sell at an impulse display is candy pills.  Candy pills are a great impulse seller.  There's nothing more enjoyable than reading a variety of amusing labels when you're waiting in a boring line, and it's very easy to just set one of those bottles on the conveyor belt and take it home.

There are a few reasons why candy pills are such a great impulse seller.  They're inexpensive, they appeal to people of different ages, and they're just a lot of fun.

  • Price.  As a rule, impulse buys can't be too expensive, and candy pills follow that rule.  You can get a display rack and over 200 bottles of pills for around $300, which averages out to about $1.50 a bottle.  You can sell the bottles for even less, since the display rack is a one-time investment that will pay for itself before you even sell out of your first shipment.  A customer waiting in line or wandering around your store will think, "It's just a buck fifty.  Why not?"
  • Appeals to Different Ages.  Candy pills, while usually the same sort of candy inside the bottle, come with labels geared toward different age groups.  For example, your child might beg for one with that provides an antidote to freaking out (and prescribe several for you!) and you might pick up a bottle that takes the patient back to age 30, 40, or 50.  Young kids might not even be able to read the labels, but they'll definitely want some to give to you, their siblings, or the family dog when they become the imaginary family doctor.
  • Fun.  A candy bar is a nice treat, but when was the last time one made you chuckle?  Candy pills are a great impulse seller because people actually enjoy standing in line and reading the labels.  Some are silly, some are suggestive, but all of them are worth a laugh.  How many impulse buys can claim to make your shopping experience more enjoyable?  Candy pills can claim exactly that, because they are just fun to look at, fun to buy, and fun to have when you leave the store.

Candy pills are a great impulse seller because they're inexpensive, appealing, and a lot of fun.  They're an economical way to increase your overall sales and offer your customers some amusement while they wait.
