Can a life be possible without comparison?  Without comparing A with B,Do animals compare, if so how do they differ from corporate employees? Articles can we differentiate them?   By ‘comparing’ are we whipping ourselves or motivating ourselves asked Swami Sukhabodhananda in the recently held LIFE programme.

To know the difference, comparison is must.  The difference between night and day or hot or cold or good or bad etc., are recognized or learned only through comparison.  But it is very popularly said and advised that comparison is not that good.  Anything and everything we must see independently and not comparatively.

The corporate message conveyed through the above statement is not about the ill-effects of comparison or arguing against comparison.  Are we comparing to draw energy, guidance and motivation or are we whipping ourselves by comparing, everyone has to question and introspect.  Knowing the strength and limitation or in other words, knowing the difference is must and the same can be achieved only by comparing one with other.

After knowing the difference, one has to accept the difference gracefully.  With the complete knowledge about the difference, one has to work towards a happy life.  Knowing the ‘difference’ should be seen as strength and not as weakness.  Being ignorant about the ‘difference’ is the real weakness or limitation of the corporate man and only through comparison, the corporate man can acquire knowledge or wisdom.

When one knows the difference or limitation through comparison, the knowledge about the limitation or difference should create options and possibilities for success.  But how the corporate employees treat the difference or result of such comparison?

The result or the byproducts of most of our comparisons are ‘arrogance’ or ‘sorrow’.  One would become arrogant that he or she is better off than other or he or she does not have what others have.  Either of the energy levels such as ‘arrogance’ or ‘sorrow; will help the person.  One needs to know how to do business or trade with the extreme energy undulation smartly to reach the summit of happiness and success.

How do animals deal the subject comparison?  Do they compare at all?  Animals do compare?  They do compare within the species level and between different species.  The byproduct of comparison in animal world is proven to be a smart strategy and not sorrow or arrogance.

When a deer sees a lion, the comparative picture (cognition) of the deer being the prey of lion helps the deer to escape.  The fast running ability of deer itself would have evolved in nature may be due to the cognition born out of such comparison only.

No animal is known to weep or complain about its limitation or allow such feelings to limit their right to fight and survive in nature.  They never get whipped by comparison and they only motivate themselves by doing so.

By knowing the limitation by the ground nesting birds, they have developed different techniques to survive successfully.   Either of these animals would have compared one with other and would have evolved to meet the inadequacy or nature would have compared and accordingly would have been offered with several uniqueness or specialties.  The point is not about who made such comparison, but the end product of such comparison is nothing but adaptation.

The corporate employees need to know how to draw strength from comparison and should not get whipped or victimized by such process.
