The European Commission information day focuses on new innovative projectsthat company can undertake. It deals with the issues the world is facing such as energy and environment. The European Commission supports the so called PPP, Public Private Partnershipthat aims to create a common vision,European Commission projects: an opportunity to do business Articles goals and methodology between public and private sector. This reciprocal support is seen necessary to fully use a synergy between worlds that have to support each other in order to achieve really challenging results. The main themes that the European Commission wants to consider are three: the factories of the future, energy-efficient buildings, and green cars. Each of them is a macro area in which almost all the sectors can be included: from manufacturing to information technology. Therefore, whatever is the sector a company belongs, it can be involved in the project of the European Commission.

Since the projects are supported by an international organism such as the European Commission, several political aspects are included. One element is the partnership between private and public sector to make collaborate two different mentality and approaches. In a similar way, the projects should be sponsored by several European Country to develop an international business.

Manufacturing

The first sector to improve is manufacturing. Even if nowadays the world seems ruled by services, the manufacturing sector is still strong holding one fourth of the total research. That is the reason why the European Commission wants to support this sector to carry on the ideas from the initial stage to the commercial business. In this way, also the public sector can be seen as a potential not expressed melting pot of ideas. The Factory of Future, accordingly with this concept, should be better place for employees as well as for entrepreneurs. If a better support from the politics can reduce the time to market of the new ideas, the quality of life of the employees is seen as mandatory too. Everything, under the new environmental rules concerning CO2 emissions and health in general.

From the point of view of help from the European Commission, the Factories of the Future should be smart, with Agile processes to create new products. The information technology will play an important role too with virtual and digital factories. In this way indeed, every process should be double checked by automatic machines that can then improve the quality of the products. The goal now, is to do better than the six sigma process, giving to the customer always better results. This is the marketing concept of tailoring the solutions around the needs of the customer. On the other hand, the information technology can create a bigger place to work where international experts can share the same virtual environment bringing their own particular competences, national culture and approaches.

To summarize, the goals of the Factories of the Future are employees Quality of Life, better and faster management of products, taking the good ideas from the research & development laboratory to the market, making digital and virtual the factories.

Automotive

The second sector to improve is automotive. Speeches about CO2 emissions are well know and now it seems the right time to make changes. Therefore the European Union wants to share the same dream of the USA about a more ecological world. To achieve this ambitious goal the automotive sector is testing the electrification of the cars. Hybrid systems are already in the market with positive results: it depends on the customers too, to buy those kind of cars! If the normal cars are a common example for everyone, another interesting application for automotive sector is the public transportation: it involves more resources, energy and waste. In this case too social needs are seen as mandatory to a sustainable life. Once again, the collaboration between members of the European Union can be the secret to bring ideas from the Research & Development laboratories to reality. To do that it is also important that every state uses the same standards, or, in other words, to create an international standards that can be followed by every country enhancing the collaboration over the barriers.

Building

The third sector is the construction. Considerable savings of energy can be made inside houses. Also in this sector the information technology can be the driver to detect the optimal consumption of energy. Classical examples the washing machines that can work during the night to have costs reduction for customers too. Solar panel are also a way to get energy in a more convenient way. Information systems likeremote controls can then optimize the consumptions of energy of the house. In a similar way, the same commands can be given on a normal mobile phone.

Success case

Successful case studies that used the help of the European Commission report that the majority of the incentives goes to the Research & Development phase.

The web site of the European Commission explain in details what to do and how to apply. It is necessary, however, to fully consider each word of the text and asking support from the European Commission too.

Conclusion

The European Commission is willing to support private and public sector as well as improving the quality of life of the citizens giving a strong impulse to the new global European economy. The effort to get this help is considerable and several elements must be consider, from the sectors involved to the countries. Considering the results and the amount of money involved, the results is worth the effort.
