However, goals change, especially when the world has been confronted with many atrocities. Businesses still strive to make money. But some of them do it for more than just the profit but in order to do good as well.

Here are five companies with more altruistic money-making goals:

Manakin Dance

“Our goal is to make people aware of the amazing planet we live on and nature’s wonders,” so states the website of Manakin Dance. The company is named after the blue manakin, a beautiful and interesting bird. The company uses its products to educate people about the environment. The company’s main causes are climate change, animal trafficking, and habitat destruction. The company takes its goals seriously that it preaches through its products and acts through the World Wildlife Fund. The company donates 10% of its profits to the organization.

Manakin Dance manufactures statement products that declare support to the environment, which has been greatly affected by climate change. It has T-shirts and hoodies for men, women, and children. The entire family can have their own statement top from Manakin Dance. There are also tote bags carrying the same pro-environment messages.

The Elephant Pants

“An African elephant is killed every 15 minutes…” states the official website of this clothing company that manufactures—you guessed it—pants with elephants on them. The company produces mostly harem pants that are comfortable and colorful. Of course, each pair has elephants printed all over them. It is not just for aesthetics, but it also serves as a reminder of how beautiful and useful elephants are. This is why it is important that they will be saved.

The company donates 10% of the proceeds for every item sold to elephant conservation organizations for the following causes: anti-poaching and security, habitat protection, a cure for diseases, and preventing human-elephant conflict. Following the bushfires in Australia, the company also committed to donating five percent of its profits to save the animals in the land down under.

Newman’s Own

This company was started by the late actor Paul Newman in 1982. The company produces food products like salad dressing, pasta sauce, salsa, popcorn, and wine, among others. All profits made by the company will go to charitable organizations. “Let’s give it all away,” was Newman’s mantra. Newman passed away in 2008, but his legacy lives on. Newman’s Own continues to make a profit and the company continues to give them away. The company supports many groups, among them: Safe Water Network, Farmer Veteran Coalition, and Shofco.

Roma Boots

Rain boots are practical footwear. But at Roma, the founders believe that people shouldn’t sacrifice good fashion just for practicality. That’s why Roma’s rain boots are unique, colorful, and fashionable. But that’s not the only reason why you should purchase Roma boots. It should be because of the company’s motto: Every purchase gives a purpose. The purchase of Every boot from Roma will be paired with a pair of boots donated to a child in need. Ten percent of the profits will also go to global educational initiatives.

Love Bottle

The single-use plastic bottle is out, glass water bottle from Love Bottle is in. As the company says: “Change the world with love, one sip at a time.” Love Bottle makes gorgeous water bottles so you can bring water with you all the time while not adding to the plastic waste, which has become a worldwide problem. Love Bottle donates five percent of its profit from every glass bottle sold to Global Water, which is an organization that brings safe drinking water to communities in developing countries.
