One should be quick to reach the target or quick to achieve the target?  Do they differ significantly?  Stone fishes are there to clarify the above doubts of the corporate.

In the ‘mystery’ of corporate communication,They achieve very fast...a HR message Articles most leaders miss to get the fact about people.   In the corporate meetings and discussions, some leaders are quick to raise some points that may appear important for the growth of the business.  They are like cheetah to quickly come to and or with a point.  The speed with which they raise the important point for discussion, even the smartest person in the corporate may envy about.    But the question is, how successful are they?

If we look at a cheetah we can understand that its hut success is relatively less despite the animal being one of the fastest runners on earth.  Even if it were successful, there is no surety that other predatory animals like hyena or lion will not snatch its hunt.

The other most important dimension is the speed required to accomplish the task and not just reaching or knowing how to reach the task.

The Stone fishes are the finest example for the corporate to learn about the distinction between ‘quick to know’ and ‘quick to achieve’.

Stone fishes have mastered the art of ‘camouflage’ in animal kingdom.  They appear and resemble exactly like a stone either from a distance or from a closer look.   Because of their highly indistinguishable appearance, they are indeed slow swimmers.  When no one can recognizes them easily, why they need great speed in swimming.   Speed is required for animals in general only to hunt or escape.

Stone fishes used to remain calm and patiently wait for its prey.  When the prey comes close to it, in a fraction of a second, they gulp the prey.  The process of swallowing the prey happens in 1/10 of a second.  The speed at which they catch the prey is equated with the speed of lightening.

Stone fishes are slow in swimming but are indeed fastest to catch the prey.   The hunt success of stone fishes is near 100%.  The message to be drawn is that one has to be quick and needs speed or swiftness to be successful.  But remember the speed should not be just for chasing, but to achieve as well.  If the speed is not effective for achieving, then such speed has only limited uses.

The corporate leaders generally judge and evaluate the people who are quick to raise a point as ‘smart’, ‘intelligent’ and ‘extraordinary’.    In true sense, the true achievers may remain like a stone fish, clam, silent and slow.  But they will achieve anything and everything with their smartness and swiftness.

The speed and swiftness people therefore has to be understood correctly.
