If your organization has Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics GP implemented, and you deploy such modules as Purchase Order Processing, Payables Management, US Payroll, then it is time to prepare Great Plains Dynamics for 1099 and W-2 forms printing out and mailing to your vendors, employees and IRS

Ideally,Dynamics GP Partner Newsflash: Great Plains W2 and 1099 printing season  Articles you should be on the recent Dynamics GP version 10.0, or at least on GP version, which is supported by Microsoft Business Solutions – if you are you can follow US Payroll Tax update procedure to update Federal, State and Local tax rates as well as W2 form itself (if changes are introduced).  In this small publication we would like to review W2 and 1099 printing alternatives in Great Plains Dynamics:

 

1.       US Payroll Tax update, released on December 17th 2008 on Customer and Partner Source at Microsoft Business Solutions.  This tax update is available for supported versions of GP: 10.0 and 9.0.  If you are on older version, please keep reading

 

2.       US Payroll Tax update for no longer supported versions of Great Plains Dynamics and eEnterprise.  What could be done for you, if you are on older version: 8.0, 7.5, 7.0, 6.0, 5.5, 5.0, 4.0 – just update on SQL level Tax tables, located in Dynamics system database.  If you are larger organization, and you are not willing to risk in W-2 forms printing – we could update W-2 form via Great Plains Dexterity customization (in case if you are aware about required changes on the form itself)

 

3.       1099 form for your vendors and contractors.  1099 procedure is usually version independent and all you need to do is to follow 1099 printing instructions in Payables Management module user manual.  1099 data repair and changing vendor 1099 amounts – if you need help with reclassifying 1099 status for the vendor or contractor, changing reported amount, please give us a call or email us
