While hundreds of eBook writers burn the midnight oil to be successful at their mission,Writing and Marketing a Successful eBook Articles many fail to make it because they don`t know how to market their eBooks. Here are some basic steps to help get you started with your marketing campaign.

Write What You Know:

How are you going to satiate the reader's obsession if you try to write about something you don't know about. You can do all the research you want on a subject matter but you will never be an expert on it. If you write an article on carpentry but never even held a hammer in your hands or are not even remotely interested in the trade, this will show in your writing. A few poorly written and uninteresting eBooks or articles will do more damage to your credibility than a ton of well written ones will do good.

Make the Cover Appropriate to the Subject Matter:

If you want a cover for your e-book, make it attractive and appropriate or don`t use a cover at all. If you possess little or no idea how to do this or do not want to spend the money on Photoshop, fiverr is a good place to visit. You can get a professionally designed graphic for your eBook for a little as $5! You can even make an eBook cover for free .

Build a Website to Promote Your New eBook:

You can make your eBook more special by creating a domain name and a website for it. This is the first step in promoting your new work. You can post a photo of yourself along with your personal biography. You can post your own articles and create additional pages as well as posting articles to other relevant web sites. This goes a long way towards getting traffic to your site, while bad articles and posting to websites that have nothing to do with your writing can hurt you with the search engines.

Social Media:

Do not underestimate the importance of social media. An argument can be made that this is more important than a website. Writers and musicians are among the most supportive people out there. It has been my personal experience that other writers and musicians will share my posts and articles, therefore getting the word out, way more than friends and family will. Not that friends and family don't care, they are just not a passionate about our work as we are. Be engaged in the writing community. Regular posts on facebook, twitter, LinkedIn, Google, etc. will keep you and your work visible. Be sure to include links to where the eBook may be purchased. This takes time but time well spent.

E-mail Marketing:

E-mail is still one of the best ways to get visibility. However this takes almost as much effort as social media. If you send 4 million eBook advertisements out every day, you may see .5% of the people opening them. Do not get discouraged by this. It takes a dedicated and persistent campaign to see results. You add this to the website and social media and you have a powerful promotional tool to work with.

Additionally:

Business cards, make sure you have them with you at all times, and public speaking engagements are other ways to introduce yourself to potential  buyers and help establish you as an authority on your particular subject matter.
