Christmas falls on the 25th of December and the festival is an important part of Christian traditions as it marks the day of Jesus’ birth to the Virgin Mary in Bethlehem 2000 years ago. Christmas has been celebrated throughout the ages as the birthday of the lord Jesus. Christmas celebrations last for 5 days until the start of the New Year. The festival is always a fun-filled time full of rejoicing, parties and dinners and exchange of presents and gifts.

Christmas is celebrated on the 25th of December every year and the festivities go on for five days until the start of the New Year. Christmas is one of the most important festivals in Christian traditions and it is celebrated in observance of Jesus’ birth. The Bible states that some 2000 years ago the lord Jesus was born to the Virgin Mary in a stable in Bethlehem. It is believed that the angels heralded the arrival of the new born King and a bright star shone which indicated the place where the infant Jesus was born. The Magi or the three wise men from the east followed this star bearing gifts of incense and other valuable items and presented them to the infant Jesus.
