As any modern parent knows technology is increasingly taking over not just our lives but those of our children too.

Of course there are numerous positive attributes of technology as it makes our lives easier,Bath Crayons - A Fun And Creative Tool To Learn Articles our work more efficient and, thanks to the internet, opens up a whole world of knowledge to us. But it does also rather seem that it’s to the detriment of our children having some good old fashioned fun and getting as much fresh air as we perhaps did during our own childhoods.

Granted the world has changed, for both good and bad, and these days as parents we are much less likely to be willing to let our children stay out and play until bedtime on their bicycles. However I am sure I am not alone in thinking it would be far nicer to see children out climbing trees, riding bikes, playing football, hopscotch or marbles and all those other things I remember loving as a child than watching them have their eyes, fingers and thumbs glued to a game console, iPad or computer. Yes, it’s true that even the youngest of children can use these devices to learn but there comes a point when other skills start to suffer.

For example motor skills, artistic skills and handwriting will not be learned or improved upon by swiping on an iPad screen and these are incredibly crucial skills – and I believe that still includes handwriting even in this era of emails and texting. After all how many of us as adults have seen our handwriting skills deteriorate through lack of use and our spelling suffer thanks to spell check?

Encouraging your child to have fun whilst learning these skills can now be even harder than ever thanks to the allure of the LCD screen but all is not lost and that is where bath crayons come in. These water based crayons encourage creativity, help develop handwriting skills and give mum and dad an invaluable tool in convincing their precious little one to take a bath!

Bath crayons come in appealing bright colours and yes – are exactly what they sound like – crayons that your toddler can take in the bath and draw all over the tub with. Wait – don’t go! Before you start panicking, banish those thoughts from your mind because I know what you’re thinking, and the answer isn’t what you’re expecting. You see, that’s the beauty of bath crayons – your child can draw, write, scribble or whatever else passes for art in their young mind, to their heart’s content and when bath time is over you’ll be able to simply erase their ‘masterpieces’ with a simple wipe of a wet cloth.

What more could you ask for: a fun and creative tool that will bring out your son or daughter’s creative side, will help their motor skills and gripping ability, will improve handwriting and get them used to the feeling of holding a pen or pencil – and big bonus for you – will help to get them in the bath with hopefully less fuss than usual.
