Self-introspection can lead to many creative things. “Tukor — A Tribute To Relationships”, a solo exhibition of paintings and sculptures by Neerajj Mittra is a result of that.
As an artist and sculptor, if Neerajj likes to spend hours on his work, as an individual he is keenly interested in knowing about a person better.
“I closely follow people and analyse them. I introspect as well,” he says. The exhibition which is on display at The Hungarian Information and Cultural Centre is result of a year’s hardwork by the artist.

“I’ve always been interested in semi-realistic works. I’m interested to know how we relate to ourselves and how we relate to others,” he says, as he talks about his painting “I, We and I” that he has made as a tribute to his mother who passed away two years ago.

“Whether a person is there or not, there are things that remind you of that person. The paintings celebrate those moments,” he adds.
Each of his displayed work has an individualised ephemera containing art narration that comprises individual titles, followed by a description of the relationship it celebrates.
“The idea of the narration is to convey how every tribute to relationship must begin and end with the prime ingredient of any relationship and its reflection — ‘I’,” says Neerajj.
