John Cena – Background and Fast Facts

John Cena is a talented wrestler, actor, and rap artist of all things.  Here is a brief background on John along with some interesting and not so interesting miscellaneous facts.

John’s real name is John Felix Anthony Cena.  He was born on April 23, 1977.  He weighs approximately 240 lbs and stands 6 ft 1 in tall.  John currently resides in Tampa, Florida although he originally hailed form West Newbury, Massachusetts.

He graduated from Springfield College in Massachusetts where he majored in exercise physiology.  John has blue eyes and brown hair.  His first WWE television debut occurred in 2002 and he maintains an active wrestling status.

Some of John’s favorite wrestlers include Hulk Hogan, Iron Sheik and Roddy Piper.  His favorite baseball team is the Tampa Bay Rays and his favorite football team is the New England Patriots.  His favorite actor is Harrison Ford and he enjoys the TV Show Family Guy.

John calls working out and body building his favorite hobbies.   He originally was training to be a bodybuilder before he decided to turn pro wrestler.  The names of John’s parents are John Cena Sr. and Carol Cena.  John has four brothers named Steve, Matt, Sean, and Dan.

As a younger child, John always felt that he wanted to be a rock star.  That didn’t happen but plenty of other things certainly did.  He always tried to remain active as a kid and not just sit around and play video games.

As a child, John watched wrestling with his father and grandfather.  He enjoyed these times so it is certainly understandable how this influenced him to turn to pro wrestling himself.

John started lifting weights after being bullied at school.  He got his first weight set at age 12 and to this day, always tries to avoid missing a training session.

He always maintains a positive attitude and has the philosophy of “It will all work itself out”.  It is interesting to note that John loves to collect muscle cars and has a collection of over 20 of them himself. 

As mentioned earlier, John is also a recording star and made a rap/hip hop CD entitled “You Can’t See Me”.  John has starred in two WWE films and keeps over 500 Jerseys.

John’s first pay per view appearance was at Vengeance 2002 when he defeated Chris Jericho.  And he earned two custom WWE championships.
