Online klaverjassen is the modern version of the well known classic Dutch card game. Online klaverjassen is very easy to learn and, like most card games out there, highly entertaining.
It doesn't matter how old you are or how much free time you have; you just need a computer, a decent Internet connection, and the desire to have fun.
Rules
Online klaverjassen can hardly be compared with any other card game: it offers a special experience. Even though the game is complex in certain aspects, it can be learned in no time.
I
Online klaverjassen is played best in 4 players. The goal of the game is to score more points than your opponents. Klaverjassen online in 4 is played with 32 cards; each players getting 8. Cards used are Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, and 7. Eight of the 32 cards that are used in the game are “troef”. Cards not used in the game are placed in a pile. After the hand is dealt, one of the cards from the pile is turned face up and the “troef”, which is stronger than the rest of the cards, is determined.
II
Afterwards, when playing Klaverjassen online, the player placed left of the dealer will either play or pass. If the person has a good hand then he or she can play. This forces the player to get more points than the opposite team. If he or she passes then the game moves to the next person.
III
If a certain “troef” is not played then another one is turned face up from the pile of cards. If this is not played, then the dealer gathers all cards and shuffles them and a new “troef” is turned face up. The team that eventually plays needs more points that the opposition. The latter can get as many points as they can. If the team that plays fails, then they score 0 and the opposition receives their points.
IV When playing Klaverjassen online, after a team announces its intention to play, the player located left of the dealer places a card on the table; the others must play a card of similar type. If they can't do so then they must play a “troef” and if neither this is possible then they are free to play any card they have. The “troef” is higher than the rest of the cards. The player with the highest card claims all the four cards in the game and places them on a pile in from of him. After eight hands of klaverjassen online the points are counted.
