There are two main reasons you might prefer gas pressure washers over high power washers powered by electricity:

  2. Gas pressure washers are ideal for outdoor cleaning; the fumes and engine noise they emit make them unfit for indoor use.

 

Commercial high power washers are more effective than home-use power washing machines. They are more durable, with better quality parts designed to enhance productivity and machine life. These machines can withstand very high temperatures and pressure levels. Many commercial water pressure washers generate heat up to 330°F and pressure levels of 3000 psi. Water pressure washers can also be tri-mode machines, offering cold water, hot water, and steam temperature options.

 

Propane pressure washers, which can be mounted on trailers, offer the additional advantage of mobility. This is important if you are cleaning large surfaces, like roads, walkways, driveways, and building exteriors.

 

For cleaning molds, you need gas pressure washer machines with nozzles of different sizes, starting at 0 degrees and going on to 15, 25, and 45 degrees.

 

Look for a machine with a long hose. A 50-inch hose, for example, allows one to clean even semi-enclosed or indoor areas while the engine housing is parked outside. If you are using a long hose, make sure the machine has a fast disconnect mechanism that allows the operator to pause the process without having to walk to the engine.

 

How to Remove Mold and Slime

 

When you are cleaning mold, select pressure washers with appropriate pressure and temperature levels. Concrete, brick, stone, and tiles can withstand high pressure levels, but metals may dent if the pressure is too high.

 

Use top-to-bottom strokes on vertical surfaces to remove mold. Similarly, on sloping surfaces, cover the upper slope first and then go downward as you clean. On level surfaces, clean one end first, and slowly move to the other end. This ensures that mold spores do not spread to the other parts of the wall or sidewalk as you clean. Using heated water is recommended for easier removal. Remember that if you are working on painted, enameled, and finished surfaces, minimize the use of hot water.

 

High power washers are available in other variants, including propane pressure washers, diesel pressure washers, and commercial pressure washer machines that run on jet fuel (designed for the aviation industry). Electric pressure washers are equally powerful and may be used outdoors as well as indoors depending on the electricity supply.
