Did you know you don't need to get a speeding ticket in order to prove you can drive? Actually,A Speeding Ticket Proves Only One Thing Articles the only thing getting one does prove is that you know how to disobey the law. Doing that, can get you in a whole bunch of trouble. It's also a proven fact a person who gets one usually won't avoid getting a second one. In my opinion, that's not being a safe or smart driver. Driving too fast happens to be one of the most common and the most dangerous behaviors on the planet. It's difficult for law enforcement officers to crack down and eliminate this problem. But that shouldn't entice you to drive faster, thinking you will avoid getting caught just because there aren't enough cops. You've got to think about, not only putting yourself in danger, but that other car's occupants you may hit. It happens all too frequently, and it can change your life and maybe the lives of others in an instant. Let's just say the reason you received a speeding ticket also results in a car accident. Here are some penalties, which could occur: - Criminal arrest - Points on your driving record - Possible jail time - Probation - Insurance rate increase - Loss of vehicle - Financial issues, heavy fines - Loss of work time if injured - Suspension or revocation of driver's license - Emotional, physical and mental injury - Death to a loved one or other occupants - Death of self There are more disadvantages, but these are a few of the more serious ones. Now, I have a question for you. Why would you want to put yourself and others at risk for any of these consequences? If you stop and ask yourself the reason WHY you're in such an all-fire rush to get somewhere, perhaps you'll be able to slow down. I suggest you put these consequences on your dashboard and read them over every time you get into your car. Not only will they help you avoid getting a speeding ticket, but also they just might one day save your life. And, yes, driving too fast is that serious. Another area, which can result in a speeding ticket or worse, is driving too fast for conditions of the road. Just today I read about a man who was riding a motorcycle on his way to a wedding. He was driving way too fast for the weather conditions. He lost control, slammed into an embankment and severed his spinal cord! He's only 30, but he'll spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair wishing he'd been more careful. I don't want this to happen to you. Life is too precious to throw it away simply because you can't get control of your foot - or rather, your brain. That's where the issue truly starts. It's your brain that tells your foot how much pressure to put on the gas pedal. Train your brain to think differently and your foot will follow.
