I live in a rural area of Southern Georgia. Many people in this area refer to themselves proudly as God Fearing, or Christians. When I first moved here over ten years ago, the first thing people would ask me is where I went to church and invite me to theirs. After the first few encounters like this I would just thank people for their offer and let them know I hadn’t found a church home yet.

The truth was I was raised in the north eastern United States where things were much more religiously liberal.  I didn’t go to church,Reiki Witch Craft or Holisyic Healing Articles yet I still spent a lot of time praying, giving thanks and receiving God’s peace.  I just had a hard time explaining my vision to everyone else. When Chiropractic care began taking off and it was evident to me that this was just another method of chakra and meridian healing.  When the local chiropractor hired a Reiki master to give healing,  the community was a buzz about the devilish and witch like practices going on in that building.  I couldn’t believe it.  I would try very hard to explain to people that Reiki did not interfere with their God, nor was it some kind of worship or witch craft….it was simply healing.  Needless to say, Reiki was stopped in the interest of the chiropractor staying in business.  With my attunement, I have chosen to tell very few people.  Even my husband does not know.  What I find is that hot button words like religion or God are often misinterpreted and when holistic healing is mentioned many people will react with fear. Either that or they think you are crazy. I have tried to plead the case to some, explaining that love, peace, harmony and God were all one in the same.  The God that I know is the same God as theirs.  What I have had trouble understanding myself is why any God would want to put fear, hatred, judgment, or shame on any of His people.  That is not God, that is a human response to morality.  The God that we all have been intended to receive gives only love, allows us to grow, forgave us at birth and empowers us.  That is also how I feel about it.  Reiki Energy is undoubtedly from God, available and useful to all….but it is not religion.  This is the bridge between us and Gods life giving blessed energy or chi.  It isn’t for a few or the lucky….it is for all! And This is Universal Love! When you stop and think about the ancient art of Reiki Healing and learn about the symbolism and life energy or chi, the response is wisdom and truth.  Doctors and scientific methods of healing all encompass an aspect of Reiki.  The difference I feel is that with Reiki we can heal ourselves and we can experience the incarnation of God within us.  It allows us to take responsibility for our bodies, heal our etheric layers and move to a spot where not only can we see, hear and taste God….but feel God pulsating through the vehicle of our bodies.  The bottom line is that any Catholic, Baptist, Methodist, Jew or Muslim can reap the rewards of Reiki without crossing the line in their religious beliefs.  I feel that any fear that arises with the  teachings is based on not knowing or not realizing the power of the God that exists for us all.  Why wouldn’t all of our God’s want to give us a gift that can improve our lives and support us with well being?  The root word Rei means spiritual consciousness and translates into a “wisdom that comes from God”  “Ki” quite simply means life energy.  I think that religions across the universe and the people that follow them can all benefit from the innate wisdom of God-consciousness as well as the life energy to allow us to complete our journeys here on Earth.  I still have not found a concrete church home that sits with a steeple high on top of the sacred building.  What I do have is God in my heart and an abundant amount of places where I feel free to worship.  The prayers, gratitude, wisdom, truths and support that I find from God have been highly resonated with even more power since my attunment.  When someone begins to seem agitated or un-understanding of Reiki, my response is usually to close my eyes and envision some of my life energy warming into their heart.  I will never know if any of those people have been touched…but I am just always thankful I found a way to send my love.
