Last issue’s article focused being stuck in inaction. One end of the action/inaction teeter-totter.

This time we focus on over-activity.  The feeling that you must constantly be doing,Whoa!, Slow Down the Action Articles you cannot rest, nothing will ever happen if you aren’t constantly ‘doing’ something.

Most of us believe that we have to work hard, there is no free lunch, or that anything that comes too easily we haven’t really earned, we don’t deserve unless we work hard. We have been conditioned to it.

In our society a hard worker is admired, respected even when all that hard work hasn’t created her dreams, hasn’t manifested in a happy life.  We say, “She works so hard, does so much.  It doesn’t seem right that she has to struggle so.”

Most of us are focused on ‘doing’ and unfortunately, most of that involves struggle. What we don’t realize is that the driving force of our actions is fear, worry or doubt.

“What if………, then………”, “ so I must do…….”  You fill in the blanks.

This causes us to try to force our goals into being through negatively motivated action.

In the words of my mentor, “force negates growth”.

In the creation of your goals, “being” is the first step, not “doing”.   Things happen with intention more than action.

Is your intention focused on what you don’t want, or what you do want? We know that via the Law Of Attraction, that what we focus on we receive. If you are focused on what you do want, you will feel positive energy growing within you and you will know when it is time to act. Whereas if the catalyst behind your actions is fear, you will only attract that which you fear, no matter how hard you work.

The wonderful thing about action motivated by intention is that it seems effortless.  Here is a yardstick by which you can measure whether your activity is coming from intention or the old nemeses of fear, worry or doubt:

If you focus on what you desire

and still feel overwhelmed or anxious,

then you are not ready for any action

You will know when you have aligned your energy with your daily goal writing, your vision board, your meditations.  Look for no tension, no stress or pressure. You will know you are ready when it is effortless.

Unlearn the old ways of thinking that in order to create things we can only do it with mental and physical effort. Instead, learn that anytime you feel those negative feelings ‘worming’ in your gut that your magnetic point of attraction is aimed at what you do not want, instead of your goal (your want).

Your feelings tell you everything. Actions are actually the final step in the creation process. First you must be, then think, then act and the guideline, the map is your feelings.

The words “Quantum Physics” used to tie my brain in a knot, “Quanta” meaning subatomic particles of energy.  (Science and I butted heads all through school). However, that started to change when I saw the little movie “What the Bleep Do We Know?” (and subsequently purchased the DVD). Finally, a glimmer of sense leaked in and with it the realization that science and theology are coming together. If you haven’t seen the movie, you can rent it and see what I am talking about.

Everything vibrates, everything is energy made up of molecules all vibrating at different rates. You vibrate, but unlike the coffee table that has one very slow vibration, you can change yours. You create through vibration. You attract through vibration. Your feelings indicate your vibration. So how you feel determines how you attract.

THIS is action without effort.

With all this in mind, remember that like attracts like (I do remember that from science class with all those iron filings a magnet!).  Fear, worry and doubt have a vibration.  If your vibration is the same, duck! They are coming your way! Change your vibration and avoid the collision.
