Introduction
One of greatest trends of the last decade is longboarding; Longboarding is popular in the alternative crowd. It is also loved by surfers; mainly due to the fact longboarding resembles surfing in a lot of ways. The longboard can be used for a lot of disciplines: Slalom, downhill longboarding, cruising the city and performing tricks. However, there are also some drawbacks of this extreme sport. The biggest negative is the price. Longboards are usually way more expensive than regular skateboards. Second Hand Longboards
It is highly recommended for new longboarders to begin with a second hand longboard. You will not need an expensive new model, in your first year as a longboarder. Later on, when you are more experienced you will need some specialized gear for the discipline you choose.
The best source for second hand longboards is EBay. Especially the German, Spanish and American versions of EBay contain heaps of second hand high quality longboards. What I also like about EBay is the rating system. You can instantly see, which sellers are credible and which ones are not.
Another good source of second hand longboards is extremesportstraders.co.uk. This British website is a sort of Craig’s List for extreme sports. The longboard is supply is relatively low, but if you search extensively, you might find a gem of a board.
Third option is forums. Specialized longboard forums often contain sections where longboarders can sell their boards. Often these boards are almost new, because these longboarders want to buy an even newer model or design.
