Buckeyes bet on Miller as starter
Ohio State is betting on a new quarterback for their game against Colorado this week,
as they will give the starting job to freshman Braxton Miller since he proved worthy of the position when he replaced Joe Bauserman in the last of the first 3 games of the team against Miami. Bauserman achieved wins against Akron and Toledo, but against Miami he underperformed, which allowed Miller to step in, and a player like him is probably what the Buckeyes need as he possess an outstanding running ability that will be quite valuable since Ohio State is still missing 3 key offensive starters in Michael Adams (offensive tackle), DeVier Posey (wide receiver) and Dan Herron (running back).
Cardinals getting closer to the postseason
The Cardinals have fought their way back into the National League’s wild card race, and their game from today to the Mets at Busch Stadium is giving them the chance of shortening their deficit to just a single game. St Louis is currently 1 and a half games behind Atlanta in the wild card thanks to the Braves recent loss to the Marlins. If the Cardinals are able to make it to the postseason, it will signify the 9th time they do it since 1996, when Tony La Russa took over as the team’s manager.
Vick practices with Philly after concussion
Michael Vick just suffered a concussion, but he is not willing to be part of the bench for long, as he was seeing active during a practice with the Eagles today, which means that he was already cleared by the appointed neurologist and is ready to get back to his usual activities, and even though it is still not clear if he will be given the green light to start against the Giants on Sunday, it is a fact that Vick is not discarded.
Raiders with tough task against Jets
The Jets, whom are 2-0, are ready for 3 important games on the road before they host Miami on October 17. The first of this games is against the Raiders, a team that is currently 1-1 and whom are coming from a 38-35 loss to the Bills last week, and they know that they cannot make the same mistakes they made against Buffalo when facing New York as the Gang Green are one of the favorites to make it to the Super Bowl this year, and beating them can really stimulate Oakland’s aspirations.
