So you have decided you want to join in on the crowd and get your own website up and running. Two questions run through your mind – what is HTML? And is it hard to build a website? This article tells you what HTML is and describes to your various ways to build a website.

HTML is the abbreviation for Hyper Text Markup Language. It is the universal language that all Internet browsers can recognise and decipher. The information is then presented in the form of a web page.

The HTML language consists of codes. For example,Is building a website difficult? Articles means to make the highlighted words chosen bolded and means to highlight the words chosen in italics. Initially, coding of the HTML language may be quite discouraging to the non computer mind; however with learning and experience, as with anything else in this world, it would soon become an easy task for you to get a grip of.

Many website developers use to use raw HTML to build websites, but have moved onto using software to help make their jobs easier. These software programs, such as Dreamweaver and Microsoft FrontPage, are made available to anyone and are a solution if you want to still do-it-yourself. These software programs allow you to edit and design web pages like you would a word document that is, you can simply cut and paste and move images and words around to suit your likings. There are two main disadvantages of using such software. One is cost. These software programs can cost a few hundred dollars, so without that money upfront you may need to look at other options. Two is usability. Both these programs work differently and you need to learn how to use the software before learning how to build your website.

Another option is to use a website builder. There are free website builders you can download for free on the Internet. If you plan to sign up with a web hosting company to host your website, then you will find that a lot of companies provide their clients with online website builders. These website builders are easy to use and also work as if you were working with a word document. Another benefit some web hosting companies provide is the use of thousands of templates for you to choose from to use for your website. These templates include everything you may need for your website, such as the layout files, image files and logos. They may come in all different styles, colours and genre.

Overall, I believe that if you are going to create your own website then you should consider learning some basic HTML and building it yourself. It is not surprising though that many people think it is extremely difficult to make a website. Building a website is a learning curve. There are many online guides to teach you HTML and you might later find that it is quite an interesting language to learn. In addition, signing up to a reliable web hosting company with website building features and templates would definitely benefit you and make your website building experience a smoother one.
