East Atlanta Village has received some serious kudos from publications around the country, calling it the “best kept secret in Atlanta” (Washington Post), the “epitome of cool and a neighborhood's neighborhood” (Creative Loafing), and also described as “reaching the crest in what has been a steadily rising wave of cool” (New York Times).  Why all the praise, you might ask.  Well, the East Atlanta Village is one of the most popular places to live with their affordable housing, farmer’s market, shopping and music venues.  “It’s a very diverse neighborhood,” says East Atlanta Community Association (EACA) President Myron Polster, a 6-year resident of the neighborhood. “That’s probably one of its strengths. It’s very diverse, very tolerant. There’s kind of a wide assortment of different places and people and attitudes, so it’s really hard to come to the neighborhood and not find some sort of little niche you’d like” (Pulse of Progress, vol. 4. Issue 9. Sept 2008).

The East Atlanta Village is known for great local eateries like The Glenwood, Urban Cannibals and Holy Taco.  The nightlife is also stellar with bars like 529, Gravity Pub, Graveyard Tavern and the East Side Lounge, a hipster late-night spot with two floors for dancing and drinking.  They even have an indie film night.

If you’re looking to move to the EAV, there are several things you can do to make your move easier.  First of all, you can call PROMOVE in Atlanta.  They’re dedicated to finding you the Atlanta apartment that fits all of your requirements and won’t hurt your budget.  And did we mention that the service itself is completely free.  Apartments in East Atlanta are abundant, and PROMOVE’s dedicated and professional team is committed to finding the one for you.

Secondly, you can check out the EAV community forum to see what is going on in the neighborhood.  There are posts for lost & found pets, upcoming events and even a smaller version of Craigslist where neighbors are encouraged to buy, sell and barter with one another.
