In 2008 , Federer added an Olympic medal to his illustrious trophy cabinet. the swiss teamed up with his friend Stanislas Wawrinka for the Beijing Olympics and won the gold in men’s double. Federer then returned to the Olympics in 2012, where he bagged the silver in singles.

Three Slams in the calendar year

Federer became the first man in tennis history to win three Slams in the calendar year thrice in his career in 2004, 2006, 2007 (Australian Open, Wimbledon Championships, and the US Open). This was a huge achievement and nobody is close to matching it.

15th Grand Slam title

The heartbreak of 2008 final was still fresh as Federer returned to the Centre Court to face Andy Roddick, a third time in the Wimbledon Final. Roddick won a tight first set and led 6-1 in the second set tie-break. That’s when Federer showed his class and with the help of a missed volley from the American, Federer came back to take that set.
