How to Download Catalog Driver Updates on Windows 10 For Installing Printer

The Windows Update Catalog is a Microsoft service on the web that allows you to download updates manually for Windows 10 and other supported OSes, but you can also use the website to download drivers, including for your printer, when the system refuses to install the device, or you can't seem to find the correct driver from your manufacturer support website.

“Windows Update Catalog” is one of the most used services provided for the website by Microsoft. It enables you to install your Windows updates manually and various supported devices. 1. Installing the Printer Manually

    1. “cd C: PATHTOCAB – FILE”

  6. Now, enter the mentioned path in order to make a fresh folder so that you can extract your driver files.
    1. “MD Printer.”
  7. Then, tap the “Enter” key there.
  8. Now, a new folder will create with the name “Printer.”
  9. Next, you have to enter the command path to withdraw your various files and folders:
  10. It will remove your desired folders to the specified folder “Printer” under “Downloads.” 

4. Downloading Your Printer Driver in Manual Way

In case you have connected your printer to the system and your existing driver gets corrupted, then you can update the driver manually through “Device Manager.”

In another case, if the particular existing printer couldn’t be detected by your system, then you may navigate to “Printers and scanners” settings for downloading your driver from scratch.

5. Upgrading Driver

If you wish to update a present running driver on your Windows, then you should follow the offered instructions:

  1. Firstly, tap the “Start” menu to launch.

6. Connecting Driver

  1. First of all, launch “Settings.”
  2. Then, hit the option “Devices.”
  3. After that, tap on the “Printers and scanners” tab.
  4. Next, press the tab “Add a printer or scanner.”
  5. Then, select the option available “The printer that I want isn’t listed.”
  6. Now, tap on the option “Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings.”
  7. After that, hit the “Next” tab.
  8. Now, you have to choose and hit the option “Create a new port.”
  9. Next, hit on “Standard TCP/IP Port” to download the specific network printer through choosing the option of printer port available via pull drop list under “type of Port.”
  10. Now, you have to hit on “Next.”
  11. Then, you have to enter the IP/TCP path inside the field “Hostname or IP address” associated with the printer.
  12. Now, unmark the query related option there.
  13. Next, tap on “Next.”
  14. After that, hit the tab “Have Disk.” 
  15. Now, you have to hit the “Browse’ tab.
  16. Then, browse the same folder, including your driver files from where you withdrew the file earlier.
  17. Now, navigate to the file “.inf” and hit it and follow the on-screen directions to download your driver.
  18. After that, hit the “Open” tab.
  19. Then, you have to press on the “OK” button there.
  20. Next, you have to choose your printer’s model description that you desire to download.
  21. After that, hit the “Next” tab.
  22. Go to the “Printer name” path and then provide the particular descriptive name for your printer.
  23. Now, hit the “Next” tab.
  24. Choose the option “Do not share this printer.”
  25. Next, click on the “Next” tab.
  26. At last, tap on “Finish.”
