Number of engineering and MBA aspirants in Jharkhand has increased about 10-fold in a decade.
The number of students taking tests at various MBA colleges across the state has increased to 19,000 from about 4,000 10 years ago.

The two premier business schools in the state - XLRI, Jamshedpur and IIM, Ranchi - along with XISS, have played important role in this trend.

"Not only students from BCom, Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and honours in economics background, but even those studying bio-sciences, are opting for MBA these days.
Students think if one has to have a fat pay packet he should do an MBA course," said Ravi Sharma, director at AMS Careers, a city-based preparatory institute for MBA entrance examinations.
Md Shams Tabrej of Erudite, another preparatory centre for MBA entrances, said, "Even 10+2 guys come seeking information about MBA entrance tests. They are serious about their career and want to do it fast."
The number of seats in Jharkhand has also increased manifold as PG colleges have started offering MBA courses.
