A short exploration into the Bond style.

Being sexy and stylish can be hard to do,Sexy, stylish Bond Articles but as long as you can be James Bond or his love interest, it’s a guaranteed thing.

James Bond is celebrating his 50th birthday this year and through the 23 films spanning this period, we’ve grown up with the dashing secret agent. In more recent releases, the film directors have cleverly been referencing previous Bond films to make us feel even more connected to our favourite spy. For example, the aforementioned trunks were chosen for Craig in Casino Royale because they referenced Connery’s trunks in Thunderball, albeit with a modern (and sexier) twist. Halle Berry attempted to replicate the power of Ursula Andress’s white bikini in the first Bond film, Dr No.

As the newest Bond film, Skyfall opens on 9th November in the U.S., we wonder what iconic scenes will be giving a modern edge this time. Which Bond girl will we want to emulate?

Bond Girl not Barbie

Well, any die-hard Bond fan knows that the girls are pretty, have attitude, class and a good fashion sense - just like Bond, who could pull off mens sandals if he needed to. If you want to take it one step further, then scoot over to the website of London auctioneers - Christie’s. They are holding a 50 year celebration of James Bond where fans can buy all types of memorabilia including jewellery, clothes, directors chairs, the Aston Martin used in Quantum of Solace, first edition books and obscure items like the tarot cards from Live And Let Die or a fibre glass shotgun from Tiger Tanaka’s ninja training school. They have taken at least once piece of memorabilia from each film in order to create the collection in which all proceeds are going to charity.

But it’s the clothes that we are most interested in and one in particular; a rather interesting cocktail dress (with matching male jacket) worn by the serving staff in Tomorrow Never Dies. It’s a statement dress made from white denim with multi-coloured newspaper print with a lace up bodice and sweetheart neckline. It’s fun and funky, and would be sure to have party guests asking where it was from. Imagine being able to reply, “It’s from that Bond film, Tomorrow Never Dies”. If you need a new Little Black Dress, and have $4,000 dollars to spare and a size 0 figure, then join in Christie’s online bid for Olga Kurylenko’s Prada dress which was a poster/pin up for Quantum of Solace.

Whether you have the cold hard cash or not, check out the online auction to sharpen your Bondness – remember it’s an attitude not a dress size.
