Building blocks are available made of many materials such as rubber,Wooden Blocks - durability keeps them ahead of others Articles plastic, ceramics, clay etc. The Wooden Blocks are superior to others because of their durability. One can repaint them afresh when the colours look faded. On the other hand, the constructions made with these wooden blocks look strong and they give out a sense of perfection. The curves, edges and surfaces make them perfectly fit to one another making it easier for children who play with them to find the right piece for the right place thus enhancing their ability and minimizing the time needed for solving their puzzles.

Further, the blocks are available in a range of puzzles and designs to make. The designs of animals, buildings, fish, birds, furniture, machineries, vehicles, aircrafts, decorations as well as puzzles of Math, accountancy, literacy, scrabble etc., are also available in the range of Wooden Blocks. Even though many Wooden Blocks are a little heavier than others made of materials such as plastic, they are also available in the same weight as other materials. When selecting Wooden Blocks, their weight should be considered according to the age of the child they are going to be given to.

However, Wooden Blocks or any other building blocks are not suitable for small children below the age of one year. The reason is they may put the pieces in their mouth and be a cause of a choking hazard. It is a common sight to see Parents rush to hospitals carrying small children who are in serious condition due to the items stuck in their throat while playing. The pieces of building blocks should be big enough to restrict easy insertion into their mouths or the children who plays with them should be old enough to understand that the pieces of building blocks are not meant to be put in mouths. More often it is up to the parents or adults to understand such situations rather than their children.

On the other hand, building blocks in general and Wooden Blocks in particular are splendid educational toys. Hence they should be given to small children to help in enhancing their knowledge. Contemporary educational systems has emphasized many years back the importance of building blocks in a comprehensive educational process. Therefore, from primary educational institutions to higher educational institutions the use building blocks in their educational activities is seen. Mostly these are Wooden Blocks since they can be kept from generation to generation without damage.
