It is undeniable that we are currently living in a world that is in the midst of a technological revolution. Unbelievably rapid advances on our understanding of technology have led to far reaching changes across the globe. I would not be surprised if you saw some drastic changes at your favorite Providence Restaurant. I know you are probably wondering how the technological revolution could possibly affect the culinary industry. Aside from some new recipes and a few new tools,Required Providence Restaurant Innovations Articles kitchens have not developed all that much. I personally am hoping that we will see big changes in the restaurant industry in the near future.

I am not just talking about technological change either. I am hoping to see transformative changes across the board in the culinary industry. The first thing I really want to see is an increase in the quality of service that is offered by many dining establishments. I have walked into too many restaurants only to be confronted by an unsmiling host who looks right through me as they continue to talk on the phone. This is one of my least favorite things when it comes to service. The importance of the job of a host or hostess is tremendously underrated in my opinion. This person is in charge of the very first impression that someone is going to get when they enter the dining establishment. I know that the quality of my evening is greatly influenced by the first impressions I get upon entry. I have had experiences that were extremely positive with host and hostesses and those experiences completely transformed my perception of the restaurant and as a result, the rest of the evening.

One experience I had recently is a perfect example of how service that goes above and beyond the call of duty can create a lifetime advocate for a Providence Restaurant. I had just walked into a new diner and ordered coffee and some delicious looking waffles with strawberries and blueberries when my phone rang. I was about to ignore the call as my food was coming out any minute and there was a quiet environment in the diner that I did not want to disturb with my chatter. However, because it was by boss, I picked it up and trotted outside to take the call. The phone call ended up being a very serious conversation and I was unable to defer it to a later time.  I paced back and forth in front of the window of the diner, wishing I could go in and eat my rapidly cooling coffee and waffles. After about ten minutes, the server walked outside and handed me a cup of the most delicious coffee I have ever had. “Just make sure you bring the cup back.” He said with a smile. This small act of kindness deeply impacted me. That thoughtful gesture transformed my experience from average to exceptional in the blink of an eye. I would very much like to see more employees at restaurants going out of their way to take care of the customers because it really does make a difference.
