Is the media popularizing breast augmentation for young women? It's difficult to say, but worthwhile to speculate.

With all of the advances in medical science that we have made over the last couple of generations it would be fair to say that breast augmentation would be one of them. Whether it is a post-breast cancer patient looking to return to her old form or an inspired actress trying to stand out during her next audition,Breast Augmentation Within Our Youth Articles one thing is for sure, there is no lack of reasoning that women will go through with augmenting their breasts and it is not always to increase the size or even make them look necessarily more attractive to society.

In modern society there seems to be a different standard for beauty amongst our youth as compared to even just before the turn of the century. With shows like Jersey Shore, Teen Mom, and Real Housewives with members of the cast who either discuss plastic surgery or who have previously gone through with it the younger generations are surrounded by role models who feel the need to change their bodies in order to feel accepted.

It is hard to say if an increase in youths (under the age of 25) getting breast augmentation would be directly related to a seemingly nonchalant message sent by society's entertainment and media but you would have to at least look at the people the children of today are now idolizing. There is no doubt that some roles that used to be played by a child's parents are now being taken over by those portrayed in the media and through entertainment. Is this directly going to make a child go through a breast augmentation procedure? Probably not, however, the children need to understand who these people on TV are and what, if anything, they have to offer their growing minds.

It is true that years ago there may not have been as many professionals performing breast augmentations and the procedure was more than likely much more expensive. What does this say about society today? Is the trend to change ones' body due to factors in society or due to blatant advertisement and acceptance of certain things shown by the media? Either way it can not be denied that the generations to come need to be taught that they do not need to change themselves in order to become successful or even accepted and let them choose what is right for them, not what seems to be working for everyone else.
