In today’s world of glitz,Defy aging with a face lift Articles glamour and a society focused on appearances, plastic surgery has become a common undertaking for people from all walks of life. Yet of all the things you can change about your body, a face lift is one of the select few options you have for getting rid of the signs of aging.

While many people are satisfied with the size and shape of their body and other various aspects of their appearance, the pure fact of life is that everyone grows old and everyone’s body will eventually succumb to signs of aging. This means that even the most beautiful individuals will be confronted with those dreaded wrinkles at some point in their life, and there is typically only one viable option to correct them.

A face lift is one of the most common forms of plastic surgery and involves removing excess skin around the face and neck and stretching the remaining skin out to remove wrinkles and creases. It is typically most successful in removing wrinkles from the neck area and the cheeks.

To achieve these results, a surgeon makes an incision in front of the ear at the hairline that extends around the ear and to the hairline on the back of the neck, usually while the patient is under the effects of general anesthesia.

The skin is then pulled back from the underlying tissues, which is a process also known as undermining. The facial tissues are then reshaped using sutures, the excess skin is removed and the remaining skin is draped back over the face. The incisions, which are typically small and able to be hidden to the point that they are not noticeable, are then closed using stitches or staples.

While the face lift is a common procedure that is performed by cosmetic surgeons all over the world, it is not always possible to achieve the desired results for a number of various reasons. For example, a face lift can be performed on a male, but it is often difficult to align the hair-bearing skin post-operation to allow hair growth to continue to appear normal.

Because every individual’s face is unique and different from any other, there are specific complications or potential risks that arise with different types of faces. This makes it important to find a plastic surgeon who has demonstrated successes in performing the surgery and also one who can assure you he or she is capable of achieving the results you are looking for.

Like other forms of plastic surgery, a face lift is a serious operation that involves preparation and a recovery period. Consult with your doctor or surgeon and make sure you know everything that is involved before you decide to have one.
