An artificial heart valve,Prosthetic Heart Valves are an effective Solution in eliminating Symptoms of Heart Failure Articles also known as a prosthetic valve, is a one-way, open valve surgically implanted into an individual's heart to replace a defective valve. The term "prosthetic heart valves" is sometimes used to describe any one of these valves. An artificial heart valve may be made of a variety of materials. These include surgical grade silicone, saline, or neovascular (stem cells from the heart) valves. Artificial heart valves may be separated into three general categories mechanical, biocompatible tissue, and synthetic tissue. Mechanical prosthetic heart valves are most often implanted to treat congenital heart disease. They are typically used to avoid the need for a heart transplant. Although they are effective in eliminating the symptoms of heart failure, they have no effect on the irreversible loss of blood flow from the heart.

Biocompatible tissue prosthetic heart valves replacement surgery involves the implantation of four valves to replace four damaged valves in the human heart. They are made of a material that does not build up scar tissue, which allows the valve to be able to return to optimal function after a heart attack. They are made out of a material called Mylar.
