The Need and Importance of Breast Augmentation

Everyone in today's world is keen to look great whether it be men or women. In the case of women: breasts form an important part of their personality. But not all women are happy about how their breasts look. So for those who are dissatisfied with the size of their breast, breast augmentation is a solution that is worth considering. Breast augmentation is not the only solution; but is one of the common solutions.

Breast augmentation is also known as Augmentation Mammoplasty. It includes implants to fill the breasts so that the breast volume could be increased. There are two types of implants i.e. the silicone implant and saline implants. The implant affects the feel and size of breasts. The implant type is based on the facts of breast anatomy and the body type of the patient and not merely on the desire of a person. The breast augmentation helps in improving the body figure by increasing the prominence of the breasts. So if any or both of the breasts have not developed normally or the volume has been lost due to aging or after pregnancy or weight loss then breast augmentation surgery could help in reshaping them to an realistic limit.

The breast augmentation firstly includes a medical evaluation of the breast and body of the patient by the surgeon. It also includes taking the measurement of the body parts related to the surgery. The surgeon would like to know about any previous medication or surgery been performed on the patient. If there is need to shift to a certain medication before the surgery then it would include following of it too. There is need to follow a special set of instruction by the patient before and after the performance of surgery.

The surgery would commence with general anesthesia or sedation. Then the incisions are made based on what the patient desires as outcome, the anatomy of the patient and the preferences of the patient and surgeon. Then the implants are placed and the incisions are closed.

Like any other surgery; the breast augmentation also poses some risk and complication which includes scarring and infection.

Blood clots, pain, changes in breast sensation, damage or leakage of implants. Also breast augmentation could not be said to be permanent. There might be instances of future surgery to replace one or both the implants

Although, There might be complications associated with breast augmentation but scientific research have cleared that it does not lead to any kind of Life-threatening diseases. Moreover, the success of the surgery depends on following the instructions of the surgeon. If the steps and recommendations of the surgeon are followed then the possibility of any complication and risk due to surgery would be minimized to a great extent.
