Achieving financial freedom with Network Marketing on The Internet
By Tasos Vasilopoulos
Part 6 - Time to design - Design the structure of your website
Introduction
This article makes part of a series of 20 articles. The subject of this series is the creation and promotion of a website as a cost-effective method to establish a profitable home based business on the Internet.
In my previous article,Achieving financial freedom with Network Marketing on The Internet - Part 6 Articles “Achieving financial freedom with Network Marketing on The Internet – Part 5 - Link Popularity - How to build it”, I have explained to you what “Link popularity” is and why it is essential to work hard to build it.
In this article I will present to you important issues to take in consideration regarding the structure of your website.
Design the structure of your website
This is the first step towards the creation of your website. Design its structure on the paper.
What are the web pages that the first version of your website must contain?
They are:
- The home page, the page that people will be presented with, when they will decide to click on your URL and visit your website and
- The structure of your links pages, the pages that will contain the reciprocal links.
Your home page will be selling your product and the links structure will be the tool for your website to be positioned well in the listings of the Search Engines.
So, our problem here is to determine who will be the links pages.
We can use only one page to insert the reciprocal links. But, take in consideration that you will create more than 300 reciprocal links. So, putting all these links to one page is not a good idea for two reasons:
- The more links one page contains, the less the power of each link
- What will be the theme of this page? Will this theme be similar to the themes of the web sites you’re linking to? Take in consideration that a link is good when it comes from an important web page that has a similar theme and also has the right linking text.
When you will request a reciprocal link exchange from another webmaster, he will examine your website:
- Is it a serious website?
- Does the link come from a web page with a similar theme to his website?
- Is the page important?
If your link comes from a links page with hundreds of other links and its theme is not similar with his theme, then probably he will refuse to exchange links with you.
This is the reason to create more than one links pages.
I suggest that you create at least the pages below:
- A page to insert the links to websites with “work at home opportunities” as their theme
- A page to insert the links to websites with “work at home resources” as their theme
- A page to insert the links to websites with “home business opportunities” as their theme
- A page to insert the links to websites with “work at home resources” as their theme
- A page to insert the links to websites with “make money opportunities” as their theme
- A page to insert the links to websites with “make money resources” as their theme
- A page to insert the links to websites with “Useful links” as their theme
- A page that explains how another webmaster can request a reciprocal link exchange from you, which will be the link exchange procedure.
Other links pages that you can create are:
- A page to insert the links to websites with “Network Marketing opportunities” as their theme
- A page to insert the links to websites with “Network Marketing resources” as their theme
- A page to insert the links to websites with “Webmaster resources” as their theme.
As I said before, having a structure of the kind for the pages that will contain the reciprocal links, will allow you to take the links from the other webmasters, since they will understand that you are a serious marketer and a link from your website will give them strength.
The content of the page that explains the link exchange procedure must be the tasks a webmaster must do to request a reciprocal link exchange from you. These tasks must be:
- To place a link in his relative links page towards your home page with the linking text, the description and the URL that you will be indicating to him in your link exchange procedure page
- To communicate with you through email or by filling a form that you may place in this page, requesting the reciprocal link and indicating, the URL of his home page, its description and the desired linking text.
- To indicate the URL of his links page, where he inserted the link towards your homepage, in order for you to verify the existence of the link and its correctness.
As an example take a look at the page explaining the link exchange procedure at my website http://www.netincome.gr/links-exchange.htm. You will find this page on the menu under the name “Home business owners – Exchanging Links”.
